MY VISION

Who I want to is someone that is not a #lukewarm individual. I have struggled with this my whole life, especially in regards to my faith. Revelation 3:14-16 is a verse that shook my life when I heard it. “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the #faithful and true #witness, the ruler of God’s creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” I want to become a person that is on #fire and is #passionate about my relationship with Jesus and my faith in God. I desire to love on people more than I already do and have a willing heart to serve wherever I am called. I want to become more passionate about things that interest God and make His heart stir, rather than live to satisfy myself and my desires. God calls each person to work heartily and aim for excellence because in doing so, we will receive His inheritance as our reward. Phillipians 4:8 calls us as well; “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

In a perfect world, sin would never have entered the world and each individual would have strived to live their life in the full pursuit of Christ and living in His image and likeness. I aspire to fully surrender my life to God, not withholding anything that may set me apart from Him or lead me far from Him. Moreover, I yearn to be someone that is seen and people wonder why I am so different and set apart. I am eager for the day that because of my actions and my demeanor, people want to know more and are intrigued by what is so different. This happens when a person has fully #surrendered their life to God and live their life to serve Him, not the world. By living our lives as Christ lived His, we become free and are no longer enslaved in our sin. Sin is what holds us down and stands in the way of us fulfilling our calling and furthering our relationship with Jesus.
I am #deeply desirous of attaining a faith like #David did, one that is #unfaltering and #unwavering, one that saved his life. In the midst of the most scary and uncertain moment of his life, David stayed faithful to God and believed that God would have mercy on him and spare his life. Because of this faithfulness, God saved him from the lion’s den and closed off the mouths of the hungry lions that were ready to devour him in one bite. There are many other instances in the Bible that discuss the faith that people had and how this faith saved them.
